Day 1. Auckland

Kia Ora, Welcome to New Zealand.
Discover the ‘City of Sails’ the way you wish. Perhaps climb Auckland’s harbour bridge, visit Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World or select from one of our many Freedom of Choice Touring activities.

Day 2. Auckland, Bay of Islands

We cross Auckland’s Harbour Bridge and travel along the Hibiscus Coast to Matakohe’s Kauri Museum. Upon arrival in the Northland region, we visit the Waitangi Treaty House and War Canoe.

Day 3. Bay of Islands

Day 4. Bay of Islands, Auckland

Day 5. Waitomo, Rotorua, Hangi Feast

The Waitomo region is home to the famous glow worm caves, where thousands of tiny luminescent creatures radiate an unmistakable glow. We discover this natural wonder on a guided tour, before continuing to Rotorua. We immerse ourselves in Maori culture tonight as we enjoy a Maori hangi feast and cultural performance.

Day 6. Rotorua

Day 9. Cook Strait, Kaikoura

Named after Captain James Cook, the first European to sail through the narrow body of water in 1770, Cook Strait separates the North and South islands.The Interislander ferry journey is one of the most picturesque cruises in the world. Once in Picton, we travel to Kaikoura, famous for its whale watching, before arriving in Methven.

Day 10. TranzAlpine Train, Franz Josef

Rated as one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world, the TranzAlpine takes us through gorges, river valleys and across the magnificent Southern Alps to Arthurs Pass. Re-boarding our coach we drive down the west coast to marvel at Franz Josef Glacier.

Day 11. Franz Josef, Queenstown

Day 13. Milford Sound, Te Anau

We journey along the Milford Road this morning, winding its way down the Eglinton and Hollyford valleys, then through the Homer Tunnel. As we exit the tunnel we’ll be met by the sight of dramatic scenery. Cruise the full length of pristine Milford Sound a true highlight of any visit to New Zealand. Our day concludes with a relaxing drive to Te Anau, where we stay overnight.

Day 14. Te Anau, Dunedin

The church was built of locally gathered stone and oak, erected as tribute to the regions early pioneers.
