Paris to Bordeaux

Arrive in Paris, the city of romance. You will be met at the airport and then transferred to your river ship, docked on the Seine River. After settling in, enjoy dinner on board as you commence sailing on the first of your two stunning cruises through France.

Travel to Giverny where you’ll visit Claude Monet’s house and gardens. Later, dock in Vernon and enjoy an exclusive visit to Château de Bizy. Find yourself transported back to the 18th century as you explore the private home of descendants of Prince Jerome Napoleon. Wander the fountain gardens to uncover hidden meanings in certain flowers, then test your own senses with a fun guessing game of floral aromas. Finish with a glass of sparkling wine in this historic setting. Back on board, enjoy a Gala Welcome Dinner.

Enjoy a private tour before sitting down to dinner in the impeccable Grand Salon, while enjoying the traditional music from a three-piece Baroque band.

Take in the stunning sights as your ship threads its way along the Gironde estuary, which cuts alongside the historic vineyards of Aquitaine. Established in the Roman period, the village boasts idyllic cobbled streets, a Romanesque church, the iconic 13th-century Tour du Roy tower and historic vineyards. The tower is an important site for the Jurade, a local organisation responsible for ensuring the quality of Saint Émilion wines and promoting them around the world. Head beneath the streets to discover the subterranean Monolithic Church that was constructed in the early 12th century, then explore the underground cellars of Les Cordeliers, where exclusive sparkling wines have been made and aged in this 14th-century cloister since 1892. Finish with an exquisite glass of the sparkling wine and a selection of Saint-Émilion’s renowned macarons.
