Today, the choice is yours. The first option is an excursion to the Black Forest region in Germany, will take you by coach through a lovely forested area, past a number of lakes as well as brilliant examples of rural German architecture. Stop in Triberg, once the home of Josef Keller, the inventor of Black Forest cake, before exploring the Black Forest Open-Air Museum. Your second option is a trip to the medieval city of Colmar, located on the Alsatian Wine Route. During a tour here, see half-timbered houses, the German-influenced old quarter, the Launch River and more. You’ll also enjoy a wine cellar visit and wine tasting.

You will then visit a silk workshop in the exciting Croix-Rousse district where Lyon’s silk weavers worked during the 15th century at a time when the city became an important trade centre. Alternatively, learn why Lyon is considered the gastronomic centre of France on a culinary tour. Visit a fresh food market and enjoy tastings of the local produce. Choose to ride aboard the historic Ardèche Steam Train through the nearby Ardèche Mountains. The scenery here in the Gorges du Doux region is spectacular, teeming with rolling hills, forests and craggier landscapes with awe-inspiring cliffs. Alternatively, stroll around Eden Park Garden, a beautiful botanic garden nestled in the heart of Tournon. The garden winds uphill in the grounds of an ancient convent, the Couvent des Moins ses Cordeliers. As you make your way through the woodland landscapes, you will be rewarded with spectacular views over Tournon with the river stretching out below.
Tucked between the vine-covered hills of the Rhône Valley, Tournon’s rich wine-making traditions, stunning scenery and majestic castle make it a lovely place to visit. Following your preferred sightseeing activity, re-board your ship and continue cruising to the delightful town of Viviers, as you savour sublime French cuisine during dinner. A local guide will take you on a discovery of Avignon, a city surrounded by impressive stone ramparts. Pay a visit to the iconic Palace of the Popes, the world’s largest Gothic palace which served as a fortress, a church and a residence to the Popes that once governed the Christian world. In the afternoon, travel to the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct that stands some 50 metres above the Gardon River. This evening, enjoy dinner on board.Daily :
Visit an olive mill and farm in Saint Rémy de Provence to discover the Provençal tradition of olive growing. Alternatively, tour the World Heritage-listed ancient Roman relics in Arles. The earliest of the relics being the arena, the Roman theatre and the cryptoporticus, all date back to the first century B.C.
From Arles, head to Les Baux-de-Provence for a tour of the castle ruins. Afterwards, both groups will then enjoy a free afternoon to further explore the wonders of Arles on your own or simply relax on board.
