Leading luxury tour and cruise operator APT received two of the travel industry’s most prestigious awards at Saturday night’s glittering 2016 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA). The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) 2016 NTIA named APT Best Tour Operator, Domestic and Best River Cruise Operator.
Commenting on what has been another outstanding achievement for the Australian owned global travel operator, APT Group Director Robert McGeary said:
“Once again we are overwhelmed to receive these two awards. Our team work to an incredibly high standard across the board and these awards are a direct reflection of their efforts. We dedicate these awards to our teams here in Australia and across the globe – we are incredibly proud of them and we thank them for enabling us to deliver the best touring and cruising product in the industry.”
“It’s not easy to win these accolades. To continually win them year after year is harder still. They are proof that APT is outstanding in all areas – in our relationships with the trade and our guests, our service delivery, product innovation and how we bring all of this together to deliver unforgettable holidays for our guests. It’s through our exceptional customer service that we’ve created a loyal repeat client base, one which is proven to book with our agents time and time again,” he added.
“On behalf of everyone at APT I would like to thank the travel industry for their continued support, and recognising us as being the best domestic tour operator and also the best river cruise operator in Australia,” said Robert McGeary.
This is the second consecutive year APT has won Best River Cruise Operator, a category that debuted at last year’s awards; and the fifth consecutive year the company has been awarded the title Best Tour Operator, Domestic.
APT operates an impressive portfolio of luxury river cruise ships throughout Europe and Asia as well as destinations such as China, India, Africa, the USA and on the Amazon; a small fleet of three expedition cruise ships operating in both the northern and southern hemispheres, one of which sails the Kimberley coastline; and wilderness lodges and a fleet of adventure coaches in the Kimberley and Outback Australia.
In addition APT’s cruising and touring product range features a combination of cruise, coach, rail and air travel throughout Europe, North America, Russia, Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, India and Antarctica.
The award ceremony was held at The Dockside Pavilion in Sydney’s Darling Harbour on Saturday 16 July 2016 and was attended by leading figures from Australia’s Travel Industry.
