What To Pack
Luggage
We ask that you pack your required items into ONE suitcase, which is to weigh no more than 20kg (44lbs) and measure (length + width + depth) no more than 160cm (63 inches). We will supply labels to be attached to your luggage, however we do also advise you keep a label with your name, address, and number on the inside of your luggage also.
We also advise passengers refrain from packing delicate or high-value items in their hold-all luggage, such as jewellery, cameras and glasses.
Once on tour, there will be porterage to and from the aircraft to your accommodation, though you may sometimes be required to bring your bag to reception for departure at some of our more regional accommodation.
Hand Luggage
In your hand luggage it is advisable to carry:
- Documents
- Sunglasses
- Camera
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Water Bottle
- Pen
- Flip flops or slides and a T-shirt are also useful for a quick change when arriving at your accommodation
Clothing
It is recommended that you consider the time of year you are travelling and bring a variety of warm and cool clothing to suit the climate. Pack sufficient lightweight, comfortable clothing and ensure you have appropriate footwear.
Summer (December to February) – Australia is warm to hot, with occasional thunderstorms in the north. We recommend light clothes and loose natural fibres, which are good for humid tropical regions.
Winter (June to August) – southern winters are cool and inland nights are cold. We suggest medium-weight woollens, a coat and raincoat. In the north, it will be warm and dry but cool at night.
Your Private Jet Tour Experience
Onboard the Private Jet
The aircraft can seat a maximum of 80 (though we only ever carry 72) and is designed for travelling in comfort. In addition to your Tour Director, your crew will consist of two pilots and two cabin crew, who will ensure you are looked after throughout your flight.
There will be toilets onboard the aircraft, which guests are welcome to use once the seatbelt sign is turned off.
Seat Rotation
To ensure everyone gets to enjoy front and window seats, a daily seat rotation system will be employed.
While You Are Travelling With APT
Dress Code
Most people dress casually on tour; especially as most days will include plane travel, however you might want to dress a little smarter for dinner.
Laundry
As we are only spending one night at most accommodation on tour, laundry will not be available, however an iron and ironing board will be available at most accommodation. Please pack enough clothing to last the duration of your tour.
Dining
At APT we go to great lengths to ensure our menus offer a variety of choices to suit all tastes, with healthy options included. Breakfasts are generally served buffet style on tour, and lunch options will vary depending on the day’s itinerary. Dinner will either be buffet style, or a three-course meal. Evening meals are always accompanied by tea and coffee. Meals included in your tour price are clearly indicated on your itinerary.
If dietary requirements are strict, please check with your booking agent or APT concerning catering in advance.
More details regarding dining on tour can be found in the APT Australia Tour Guide.
After Dinner
After a long day of excursions, many guests choose to go straight to bed – however you are welcome to leave the accommodation for a stroll. The majority of accommodation we visit will have a fully licensed bar for guests to enjoy an after-dinner tipple.
