This morning will be one of those pinch yourself moments as you awake to the sight of Wineglass Bay and are treated to a sundeck champagne breakfast. Later, step on board the Xplorer tender and head to shore for a guided hike to a lookout spot where you can gain a true perspective of the pristine beauty of Freycinet National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before returning to the Coral Discoverer. This afternoon perhaps relax on the sun deck as the ship heads southwards, passing close to the Ile des Phoques where you can watch fur seals at play on the rocky granite outcrops.Daily :
This morning we will wake in Adventure Bay on Bruny Island. Set off on a guided bush walk to Fluted Cape Lookout where you can take in views of the crystal blue waters, rugged cliffs and rock formations. It’s important to work up an appetite, as the rest of the day is all about food! After lunch on board, we’ll be heading off to the Bruny Island Cheese Company where we’ll learn about cheesemaking and will sample many varieties followed by an indulgent picnic of shucked oysters and champagne on the beach, then capped off with a special Taste of Tasmania chef’s dinner on board.Daily :
Overnight, the Coral Discoverer has tracked along the Island State’s most southerly shores to Port Davey, deep within Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area. We will set off on a morning excursion Xplorer cruise to Melaleuca and take in the surrounds of the Needwonee, keeping an eye out for the elusive orange bellied parrot. If conditions are right you may be able to kayak in Bathurst harbour. This afternoon, we will set off another hike to Mt Beattie, where more breathtaking sights and wildlife spotting opportunities are assured. This evening, we’ll toast the sunset with celebratory drinks and dinner on board, and be lulled to sleep as the Coral Discoverer turns back and makes its way overnight towards Tasman Island.Daily :
What a special sight to wake up to this Australia Day! From the deck of your small ship you’ll view Tasmania’s rugged coastline, flanked by a green swathe of impenetrable wilderness. By mid-morning we will be approaching Tasman Island where we will cruise ‘the Gap’ and arrive in Port Arthur. This afternoon we will set off on a private behind-the-scenes tour of the penal colony site where your archaeologist guide will show you historic buildings not usually open to the public and share secrets of the former prison’s dark and brutal history. This evening will we enjoy captain’s drinks and an Australia Day BBQ dinner, before our overnight cruise to Hobart.Daily :
