Perhaps travel to San Gimignano for a sightseeing discovery, with a tasting at the world-famous Gelateria Dondolim, owned by gelateria master Sergio Dondoli. Or, travel to Val d’Orcia, one of the most attractive areas in Tuscany. Here, visit the Renaissance town of Pienza, famous for its Pecorino cheese and truffle production. After a brief stroll, continue to the countryside farm of Podere il Casale, to visit its cheese factory and wander through the farm itself. A third option is to join a guided hike followed by a picnic lunch.

After breakfast this morning, traverse the rolling hills of Tuscany en route to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, known worldwide for its unintended tilt. Later transfer from Rome to the port city of Livorno, which overlooks the Ligurian Sea. Board your ship and meet with your fellow guests this evening during a welcome dinner on board.

Disembark in Portoferraio, the island of Elba’s charming capital. Disembark in the sickle-shaped harbour of Trapani in Sicily. Today’s adventure takes you to the medieval mountain town of Erice. If you can drag yourself away from blissful sea and valley views, there’s a sweet treat in store at Sicily’s most famous pastry shop. Then continue to Saline where the region’s salt flats and salt mounds resemble snow. Visit the Salt Museum of Nubia and stop for lunch at Trattoria del Sale before setting off for the port of Mazara del Vallo, home to Italy’s largest fishing fleet.Daily :
Spend the day immersed in the ancient and modern history of Malta. Disembark for a guided discovery of Malta’s capital Valletta. You’ll hear all about Anzac history, finding traces of World War I’s legacy scattered throughout the city. In 1915, 57,950 service men from the Gallipoli expeditionary forces were evacuated to Malta, which earned the nickname the ‘Nurse of the Mediterranean’. Learn how Calabria’s port of Crotone is also the site of the ancient Greek city of Kroton, where philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras set up a school in 530BC. Later, travel to Santa Severina, one of Italy’s prettiest towns overlooking the Neto River valley. Visit the Norman Carafa Castle, the cathedral, the Byzantine baptistery and explore the town. Find yourself in the port of Otranto today, in the southern region of Puglia. From here, transfer to Lecce, a city renowned for its beauty.
