What exciting projects are you and your team working on?

Most exciting has been our change program towards a flex-culture here. This has had such a positive impact to our people and been most rewarding to work on for all involved. We have had a focus on our staff benefits and bringing some new ideas to life for the team. And last but certainly not least, we have been continuing to roll out our Learning & Development program with a view to 2021 bringing some new and exciting programs to the teams.

What do you enjoy about working with APT?
Well, initially it was travel and the appeal of working in travel for a leading brand. As I have grown with the business it’s become very much about the team and people. I get energy from delivering results with our team and watching this come to life in the business.
What sets APT apart?
Our people and the product they deliver. Our staff really love travel and in a business with a 90-plus-year history there is so much knowledge in our team. They bring this knowledge together to provide amazing experiences for our customers. During COVID it’s been inspiring to be involved with these legends as they evolve our product so our customers have options to travel in this changed world.

What HR innovations have taken place at APT to bring the company together during this difficult time?
COVID has provided us an opportunity to streamline and automate in HR. This has allowed us more time to be there for our people. COVID has also provided us a great opportunity to check in with our teams and listen to what’s really important to them right now. This has led to changes in how we communicate within the business and how we enable our teams to work together. In a positive way, there is “no going back”.

What destination is ‘calling’ you?
Domestically, Bright in Victoria. The Victorian Alpine region in summer is beautiful. Riding my bicycle or walking up in the high country, sitting in the gardens at a winery (I really like Milawa) or sitting with my feet in the Ovens River. Overseas, Canada, British Columbia and Alberta. I am itching to go back there as a family and road trip through the countryside and the Rockies to explore the parks, mountains and all the other places along the way.
