APT and Blue Dragon Children's Foundation Open New Children’s Centre in Ho Chi Minh City

At APT Travel Group, we believe in travel that makes a difference — not only for our guests, but for the communities we connect with around the world. 

In October, our Chief Operating Officer Lorna Heyward travelled from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the opening of a brand-new Blue Dragon Children’s Centre — a safe and welcoming space where street children and vulnerable youth can now access social workers, counselling, and career development support. 

APT guests joined the celebration, meeting some of the remarkable children who will benefit from this vital facility. It was a joyful and meaningful occasion, marking another milestone in our partnership with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation. 

As Lorna shared in her speech: “Blue Dragon has been a long-standing charity partner of ours, and their work continues to inspire us. From rescuing children from trafficking to providing education and shelter, they’ve shown what compassion in action truly looks like. We bring nearly 10,000 guests to Vietnam each year and we believe by connecting our guests deeply with the communities we visit we can have an impact”  

Blue Dragon’s mission is to end human trafficking and protect children in crisis. By establishing this new centre, they are strengthening child protection systems, supporting families, and working closely with government partners to prevent trafficking before it happens.

In addition to fundraising activity by our employees and generous donations from our guests, each year APT proudly helps organise the Blue Dragon Marathon Walk, which raises around AUD $450,000 globally in collaboration with The Intrepid Foundation — a wonderful example of industry partnership creating real impact.
