Victoria Falls → Johannesburg

Following the end of your escorted tour, transfer from Livingstone across the border to Victoria Falls Station in Zimbabwe. After embarkation, guests may freshen up before joining fellow travellers in the lounge or observation car for a convivial toast to your journey ahead. Dinner requires formal dress and is served in the dining cars en route to Malindi. You will stay in your suite overnight on board.

A continental breakfast is served in the dining cars. Enjoy a game drive at The Hide in Hwange National Park. Lunch is served in the dining cars. The train travels between Dete and Gwaai along one of the world’s longest stretches of straight railway line – 114 kilometres – and passes Bulawayo: second city of Zimbabwe, capital of Matabeleland and the industrial capital of the country. Tea is served in the lounge and observation cars. Dinner requires formal dress and is served in the dining cars. You will stay in your suite overnight on board.

Following an early breakfast, transfer to Matobo National Park for a game drive. Visit the park’s bushmen caves and the grave of Cecil John Rhodes. Rhodes commissioned the Victoria Falls Bridge, connecting Zimbabwe with Zambia, two nations which formerly made up the African territory of Rhodesia, which was notably named after Rhodes. Return to enjoy lunch on board as the train traverses baobab country. Following afternoon tea, dinner requires formal dress and is served in the dining cars en route to Beitbridge. You will stay in your suite overnight on board.

Today is spent at leisure on board. Breakfast is served in the dining cars. The train crosses the Limpopo River to Musina in South Africa. Lunch is served in the dining cars as the train crosses the Tropic of Capricorn. As you watch the passing scenery, partake in afternoon tea ahead of dressing for dinner as the train continues on to Pyramid, passing the edge of the escarpment where the Highveld drops precipitously. You will stay in your suite overnight on board.

Today, after a final breakfast on board, arrive in Pretoria at the Rovos Rail Station. Transfer to Johannesburg and your overnight accommodation.
