Meet APT Tour Director - Jeanette Hedley

Jeanette Hedley, a Tour Director and Cruise Liaison for APT, enjoys showing the region she is most familiar with to her guests, Eastern Canada.

What does your job entail and what do you love most about it?
I have the privilege of showing our guests from around the globe the corner of the world where I grew up, work and live, this being Eastern Canada. I love entertaining the guests on the bus with tales of the places we visit. I enjoy getting to know them along the way.

How long have you worked for the company and what is your favourite thing about working for APT?
I have been with APT for four years now. My favourite thing about working for our company is that I love revisiting places I know so well and experiencing it with people seeing it for the first time.

What has been your favourite on-tour moment and why?
Sorry, there are too many. I can’t pick just one moment!

What does travel mean to you?
Travel is an opportunity to learn more about the cultures and places that make up the world. I love getting to explore new places and learning about the history that explains how circumstances led to the way things are today. I also love seeing the beauty of new landscapes. Travel always has me returning home with new memories and perspectives on where I live.

What destination is 'calling' you?
On my own, I want to study yoga at an ashram in India. With my partner, I'd like to go to Malta – his family originate from there. With a group of girlfriends, to celebrate our 40th birthdays, we’ll go somewhere in the Caribbean.
